Sage Act! 2012 Software - A First Review

There are few things that can be relied on with any degree of certainty in this world, but the month of September is when you will notice the days getting shorter, the leaves beginning to turn golden and fall from the trees, and Sage will release a new version of Act! software. And this year is no irregularity as Sage Act! 2012 hits the streets.

Remote Control Codes List

Early indications were that this year the main emphasis on this new release would focus on consolidating the basic code and manufacture the whole container solid and robust, and it's difficult to argue with this philosophy.

Evidently, the marketing division then decided that software that just works wasn't going to be adequate to illustrate the upgrade fee for existing users, so a few new bells and whistles were dreamed up for the new release.

Before getting into the details, it's prominent to realise that Act!, sorry, that's "Sage Act!", exists in three unavoidable flavours.

The "standard" version is called Act! Pro, the fully featured version is called Act! Premium. Now I don't know either the nuances of this terminology are dissimilar in the Usa but to my British ears the term "Pro" says "Professional" and doesn't distinguish itself from the term "Premium" which sounds to me about the same. Just to confuse the issue further, a few years ago both the acceptable and prime versions were both referred to as "Act! Professional" in the Uk.

So, what are the differences between Pro and Premium? Well, not a great deal to be frank. Pro has 90% of the features of Premium, and a few of the other features are restricted in Pro. There's a maximum of 10 users in Pro, no petite passage facility, no field level passage control, no reserved supply scheduling and no network synchronisation capability, though you can still synchronise a remote database providing the programme is de facto running on your server. There are other differences, some of which seem inconsistent. For example, both Pro and prime offer Dashboard reporting, but in Act! Pro the reports are restricted to the person logged in; you can't get company-wide reports on Pro Dashboards. Any way you can get company-wide information from the primary text reports.

I mentioned there were three flavours of Act!, well the third is Act! for Web. In the Uk this is currently bundled in the box free of charge when you buy Act! Premium. Essentially it is Act! prime with the extra bits needed to release the database to an Iis web server which you need to host yourself (or use one of the paid-for Act! hosting services). The nice thing is that, in the Uk at least, the licenses are mix-and-match so you can log in through both the desk-top application and through a web browser using the same credentials. Sage Act! 2012 sees the introduction of keep for browser passage using Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4.

Having set the scene, let's get down to the main event.

One of the much trumpeted new features is Google integration. For this you will need a Gmail account, and it doesn't work with Google business accounts. The mental behind this is that lots of the young habitancy arrival into business already use Google for email, contacts and calendar and this allows them to continue using the tools they are well-known with. I have to say that personally I've never been asked by any business for this facility, but others may get the invite all the time, so let's accept it's a good thing to have.

Like the existing Outlook integration you set up Google integration in three unavoidable parts, email, calendar and contacts (you can have one two or all three). Basically, it works. The main limitations are that you need to be linked to the internet (doh), and more seriously, as with the Outlook integration, the contacts synchronisation into Act! is all or nothing. Whilst I can see the inherent advantage of this feature, my main concern is (as with Outlook) if the highlight is turned on you risk importing everyone's Google experience "friends" into your business-critical sales database.

The second new toy is called "Universal Search" which provides a more "Google-like" crusade ability (anyone detecting a theme here?). The main divergence between Universal crusade and the existing Keyword crusade is that the new crusade machine can look inside attached files as well as in the usual fields, notes and history. The order in which the results are displayed will make you scratch you head, but there is a logic to it if you know what it is. The main limitation of Universal crusade is that you can only agree one item from the crusade results; you can't agree three or four and do a lookup. In reality it does what it does highly well. Just keep in mind this is a way of finding a particular item you've mislaid somewhere in your database. For all else use the acceptable Lookup/Advanced Query options.

The next item to keep you amused is called ScratchPad. No that's not something you use for cleaning the oven, and it's not a way of entering the national lottery. It's a notepad. If you remember "SideAct!" in Act! version 6 you get the picture. So it's a petite utility application that can run independently of Act! where you can scribble your to-do list. You can later sync your ScratchPad with Act!, but only if Act! is running.

Other changes include a Services Discoverability button which opens a screen like the Welcome Page which describes and has links to the Sage Act! linked subscription services such as the Email Marketing and business information Services. The plan that there are millions of Act! users out there who simply didn't know they could link to these external services seems a bit unlikely, but as more linked Services are introduced this does at least contribute a tidy way of presenting them.

One of the new linked Services is Sage Act! Connect. This has evolved from the Act! mobile Live subscription aid which allows users to synchronise some of their Act! data to their mobile phones. You can still do this, but the divergence is that the data goes via a Sage-hosted web site where the same data can be viewed via a browser. Now the data that can be accessed in this way is petite to the usual experience address fields and the last five notes/history items. You can't view Opporunities through this method. There's also no keep for international phone numbers. However, if the petite whole of information that is ready is all you need then this aid may be for you. It gives you another way to passage your database information whilst on the move. If your phone/device is one of those that can't sync to the data (e.g. Iphone/iPad) you might still be able to passage it on the Sage Act! associate portal through a web browser. The costs for this aid vary from country to country.

One rather scary highlight of the Act! associate portal, designed to motion yet again to the Twitterati, is the ability to import yet more "friends" from their Facebook Google and Yahoo accounts. Once again, why anyone would want their sales and marketing database corrupted by importing twaddle in this way is beyond me. If you are using Act! to run the local flower-arranging community it inherent has a value but for business to business relationships I fail to see the point.

There have also been some improvements to existing functionality.

Firstly, the installation process has been streamlined and made faster. There's also a database discovery installation which makes it easier to find Act! databases on your computer if you have more than one and you've lost it (and it's on your computer). Smart-Tasks have seen modest improvements and the Outlook integration has been tweaked to allow for larger time frames when syncing calendars.

One final flourish is that if you import data from spread-sheets you now get a article when it's done to tell you all went well or what went wrong, if de facto it did. Whilst I would have adored a article at the beginning of the process to tell me what is going to go wrong before I do the import, it's a welcome addition.

So there we have it.

To be sure, the major additions in functionality will be useful to those who use them, and the minor tweaks and under the bonnet improvements in speed and reliability will be welcomed by every person else.

I just worry slightly that Act! is losing its way in the rush to embrace communal networking in an exertion to attract the trendy young managers and sales habitancy whilst at the same time trying to keep existing users on board. There are some things in business that have to be fairly disposition and we should make these as easy to do as possible, but I sense the marketing troops within Sage are losing sight of the requirement for persisting improvement of the core theory and are instead trying to motion to the communal networking generation. My biggest concern is that in doing this the inherent for erroneously importing unwanted information into our sales and marketing databases has increased enormously.

All in all, even if we ignore the new headline features that you may or may not use, the modest improvements to speed, reliability and functionality are welcome, and anyone with a version of Act! more than a year old will advantage from an upgrade to the latest offering.

Sage Act! 2012 - A First characterizeiWavit Tabula Rasa: Programming TV Channels Tube. Duration : 1.37 Mins.

(www.iwavit.com) "iWavit Tabula Rasa Setting up your TV Channels": The iWavit is an hardware accessory that turns your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch into the ultimate remote control for controlling IR devices AND computers. This video is part of a sequence of videos that demo how to use various features of the free Remote Control Editor app called "iWavit Tabula Rasa". Activities and Macros are common terms for embedding more functions inside of single buttons. For example, when you press a "Start Watching Movies" button, you may want it to send an IR command to turn on the TV, turn on the DVD player, and send the DVD "play" button. In this demo we focus on a different type of macro, and this is for changing the channels on your TV or Cable box. To change the channel you generally want to be able to enter something like channel "123". It would be tedious indeed if you have to learn 3 new IR codes for each new TV Channel button that you create. This is why we created the "TV Channels" function type. This demo shows you how to use this to 1) Learn the number 0-9 ONCE, and then 2) how this greatly simplifies creating your own personalized channel list.

The Sap theory Os accumulator - Saposcol in a Nutshell

The Sap principles Os accumulator (Saposcol) is a platform independent stand-alone program that runs in Os background and collects the principles facts using a segment of the shared memory for assorted applications and all Sap instances on a host. These facts details can be viewed straight through transaction code St06/Os06 in frontend Sapgui. It is a very beneficial tool for NetWeaver/Basis Administrators & consultants to monitor server performance. Saposcol extracts real-time data from system, although it does not refreshes automatically, you need to click the 'Refresh' button to get the updated data. Saposcol collects principles data every 10 seconds and records it, and also records the hourly averages for the last 24 hours. It runs autonomously from Sap instances exactly one process per host and collects data from assorted operating principles resources. User can monitor all the servers under Sap landscape with this tool. But for remote server (livecache server) the transaction code is Os07. You can check Cpu utilization, bodily & virtual memory usage, Pool data/Swap size, disk response time, utilization of bodily disks and file systems, resource load for running processes and even Lan data from the monitoring list.

You can navigate to this tool from Sap Menu->Tools->Ccms->Control/Monitoring->Performance->Operating System->Local->Activity.

Remote Control Codes List

If you can't see any data, that means the Os accumulator (Saposcol) is not running (error code: Shared memory not available). In this situation your main task is to fix the saposcol to run properly. This commonly happens after a new Sap factory or Kernel upgrades. If you are new with the Sap Systems the following guideline will be helpful to overcome the saposcol issue.

Unix/Linux/Aix/Sun/Solaris System:

First, Check the permission of saposcol.exe file, it should be 777 (owner is root in group sapsys) and sticky bit should be set to 4750. If you want to know which user is running saposcol, use "ps -ef | grep saposcol". Now to change the saposcol file to owner root, group sapsys, mode 4750, log in as root to your unix principles and execute the commands as below,

cd /usr/sap//Sys/exe/run
chown root saposcol
chgrp sapsys saposcol
chmod 4750 saposcol

You can also run the "saproot.sh" in the exe dir to set the permissions. Then run saposcol -l as the same owner (root). Check accumulator status using saposcol -s. After setting the file permissions, you can also use, St06 -> Operating principles accumulator -> Click on 'Start' to run Saposcol.

To stop the Os accumulator use saposcol -k. If this command failed to kill the process, you can execute "cleanipc 99 remove" (Check Sap Note 548699). If this effort also fails, then you need to remove the shared memory key of saposcol. Execute command "ipcs -ma" and note down Shared Memory Id in the line that contains saposcol key. Then execute the command "ipcrm -m Id". Shared memory key will be created again next time when you run saposcol.

Sometimes using "saposcol -l" gives a message that it's already running, but when you grep the process using "ps -ef|grep -i saposcol" it may not show the process. In this situation, you can use a undocumented parameter "saposcol -f", where "f" stands for beginning the process forcefully. When it starts, then stop the process in regulation methon using "saposcol -k" and then start it commonly using "saposcol -l".

If saposcol still doesn't run, then you need to start it in dialog mode. Login with use adm and result the steps below,

saposcol -d
Collector > clean
Collector > quit
saposcol -k to stop the collector.
Before restarting
saposcol -d
Collector > leave (You should get a message- Shared memory deleted)
Collector > quit
cd /usr/sap/tmp
mv coll.put coll.put.sav
cd
saposcol

"coll.put",if this file contains the old shared memory and should be deleted in order to get a clean start (Check Sap Note 548699, point 7). If you are unsuccessful in clearing shared memory, please try the following commands to clear the shared memory:

$ saposcol -kc
$ saposcol -f

If this also fails, then you need to restart the principles from Os level and seems like also need a new version of saposcol (Check Sap Note 19227).

Ibm iSeries i5/Os (Os/400, Os/390):

- Check permissions of directory '/usr/sap/tmp' and the file 'saposcol.exe', it should be 4755 and owner must be root in sapsys group. Check Sap Note 790639. After assigning permissions you can run from Os command line using 'Saposcol -l'. To show the status use 'Saposcol -s' and to stop the process use 'Saposcol -k'. You can also run the process by submitting a job in Os level using
Call Pgm(Saposcol) Parm(-l)
It submits the job in job queue Qbatch in library Qgpl.

- In iSeries, you might touch strange data when analyzing Cpu utilization using tcode St06/Os06. Even you are using manifold Cpu's, Saposcol might only narrative Cpu usage for the first Cpu. Also sometimes you will find Cpu utilizations reported above 100% in some intervals, if you are running Sap instance in an uncapped partition where manifold logical partitions are using a shared processor pool. In this situation, be sure that Cpu usage reported for Cpu number 0 is the mean usage for all Cpu's being used in the system. If you want to view shared Cpu partition information, apply retain packages as per Sap Note 994025 along with following patch levels

6.40 disp+work package (Dw): 182 Saposcol: 69
7.00 disp+work package (Dw): 109 Saposcol: 34

By applying these patches and retain packages into the system, new transactions, Os06N, St06N, and Os07N are ready to view further facts in two sections titled "Host system" and "Virtual system". These include facts about the partition type and the ready and consumed Cpu in the current partition as well as in the shared processor pool. So, if you are a iSeries user and your Saposcol is not running, highest probability is that you need to put the most recent kernel & saposcol patch. (Sap Note 708136 & 753917)

- Another scenario in iSeries, when your saposcol is not running, and you cannot start it from St06/Os06. Qoute might be with the authorization list R3Admautl was not accurate. You can solve it by this way,

1) remove Qsecofr *All X
2) change *Public from *Use to *Exclude
3) Add R3Owner *All X

Now you can start saposcol using the tcode St06/Os06. And also you can start the process from command line,

Call Pgm(/Saposcol Parm('-l')

If this does not solve the Qoute check if both programs Qpmlpfrd and Qpmwkcol in library Qsys have *Use- authority assigned for user R3Owner (Sap Note: 175852). If not then you have to run the following commands:

Grtobjaut Obj(Qsys/Qpmlpfrd) Objtype(*Pgm) User(R3Owner) Aut(*Use)
Grtobjaut Obj(Qsys/Qpmwkcol) Objtype(*Pgm) User(R3Owner) Aut(*Use)

Then you should verify if the user R3Owner is part of authority list R3Admautl (Sap Note: 637174). After this if you receive the error "Saposcol not running? (Shared memory not available), then result the steps below,

Windows System:

- Go to the Kernel briefcase in command line where you will find saposcol.exe. Set full owner permission
for the file & folder. Then run saposcol -l (saposcol -d in dialog mode)

- You can also try Start/Stop Saposcol assistance from Control Panel -> menagerial Tools -> Services (services.msc).

If all other attempts fail, then make sure you have the accurate version of Saposcol. Get most recent Saposcol from Sap assistance Marketplace for your Os. Download the Saposcol.Sar file for your Kernel and save in a directory. Then Stop Sap & Saposcol. Check for any Kernel library locks and don't forget to take library backup. Then run Apyr3Fix and then Apysap. Check Oss Note 19466.

Saposcol also can be ended due to small number of internal memory allocation. When this memory filled slowly while the runtime of Saposcol, principles writes data outside the buffer. As a result the following buffer is cleared and Saposcol terminates with a dump. Apply the following patches with at least the patch levels specified below:

Sap release 640: Saposcol patch level 100 and Dw patch level 293
Sap release 700: Saposcol patch level 75 and Dw patch level 151
Sap release 701: Saposcol patch level 18 and Ile patch level 53
Sap release 710: Saposcol patch level 36 and Ile patch level 161
Sap release 711: Saposcol patch level 12 and Ile patch level 48

So, it's unavoidable that if we use separate Sap Systems in one server with incompatible aggregate of Kernel versions, Saposcol will face crisis and will not furnish data for all systems, though Sap principles functions will run without any trouble. This happens because we are using new Ibm technology with Ext Kernels, so it will not allow Saposcol to reside in particular level store (Sls), rather than put it to Teraspace. In this situation it's unavoidable that if you run an Ext principles with some other non-Ext systems, saposcol will run only in one system. To overcome this issue you need to upgrade to Ext Kernel for all Sap systems with most recent patches. Then set allowable authorization for Saposcol file & directory as guided which will solve any Qoute linked to Sap Os Collector.

What I mean by this is that if the proprietor is on holiday, off sick or even dies, the firm immediately stops. No one else is colse to to pick up the threads and carry on. Spouses that are left have no idea what work is currently being done, arrival up to be done, or even overdue. No knowledge of problems lurking in the background, or of the financial position of the business. In fact, all was being carried in the head of the proprietor who fully intended to make some notes when he was not so busy, and had promised himself he was going to write up the last month of books and records next weekend.

Most population start their firm because they are good at their job and want to work for themselves rather than feather the nest of their employer. Once they have their own firm up and running, they find they have supplanted their previous 9 to 5 job with a 20 hour a day firm producing far less income than they were used to.

Can you recognize yourself with this picture?

If so, here are 5 steps you can take to collect operate of your business, improve your marketing efforts and boost your profits.

Step 1: Start To Work On Your firm Instead Of In Your Business

What has this to do with marketing and boosting profits I hear you ask?

Immediately rule to step face your business. What I mean by this is for you to go out and hire a person, maybe two or even three, to do the jobs that you have been so wrapped up in that you have been chasing round in ever decreasing circles. Remember the song Busy doing nothing, nothing the whole day long, spending lots of time looking things not to do? When did you last feel that you had achieved a genuinely valuable, and profitable, days work?

Do not worry, you are not alone! Most small businesses are in this position. The customary good idea that sparked the formation of your firm was a similar incentive to most other population starting their businesses. But the reality is that the person having the good idea is mostly not skilled at the vast range of things that need doing to bring that idea to life. For example, the small firm owner has to be salesman, telephone operator, bookkeeper, credit-controller, invoicing clerk, expand chaser, Vat specialist, copy writer, supplies buyer, covenant specialist as well as dealing with many other things they never even opinion of when that idea struck and the firm began.

What would you do if you now had a consolidate of employees doing the basic work of the business? I asked a small firm owner this very query recently and the immediate response was Starve!! When I asked what he meant by that I was told that he could not perhaps afford to pay any wage and still have sufficient money to buy food for him!

I could see the way this chap was mental and he is not alone. He opinion that he could not perhaps pay any wage from his profits and still make a living for himself. After all, his finances are tight sufficient already.

Once I explained that this mindset was only valid if he naturally sat on his hands after employing his assistants and did nothing with the free hours he now found himself with. That was a revelation to him. The very idea of having time to step back a little, to reflect, plan and think about his firm was a pleasant surprise.

Now, let me ask you a direct question...What would you do with 30 to 40 hours a week that had suddenly come to be free time?

Would you reconsider using a dinky of that time to maybe grow your business? Do you think you could use the time to channel the passion you felt when you were just starting out into continually chasing customers as you did in the early days until you became too busy?

This is the most foremost step you can make for your business, ever.

I know the opinion is scary. The very idea of trusting your baby to new assistants that do not have all your skills, vigor and the same passion for your business...is a difficult opinion to grasp.

I will address how to overcome this psychological barricade in another record but in essence it is simple. It is just a matter of advertising for the right staff.

Once you have made the decision to detach yourself from the day to day details of your firm some magical things begin to happen...

Step 2: customer Focus

Is the emphasis of your advertising, website, brochures, email newsletters etc. All about you and your business/product?

Is your firm name featured heavily at the top of your letterheads, website, email newsletters, advertisements etc.?

If it is, I can tell you this is the biggest turnoff for new customers ever invented. I know it sounds harsh but do you think prospective customers want to know about the years of development, the trials and tribulations you have conquered, the merger of two businesses in 2001 to generate the current firm, your qualifications and experience?

No, they do not!

This is a hard fact for small businesses to understand. They spend lots of time and unnecessary amounts of money making a smart brochure, writing materials set, website etc., and wonder why the orders do not flood in when the image looks so polished and professional.

All your prospective customers are curious in is what they get out of what you offer. By this I mean if you are selling to the public, they want to know how your stock will make them feel, how it will improve their lives, save them money etc. If you sell to other businesses, what do you think they are curious in? Well, what are you curious in? Will this stock make you £50,000 in extra profits, save two employees off the payroll, increase productivity, etc..... The best test is to apply your own thoughts about buying to your selling literature. What would you like to see if person was selling it to you?

It is sometimes a shock for population to look at their whole firm image and ethos and comprehend that they would be put off buying if they were a prospective customer being approached by a firm like that.

Can you start now to see the power in changing your advent from being self orientated to solely and exclusively customer orientated?

Ask a good friend if they would buy from your firm after looking at your literature?

Step 3: Make Your Advertising Work For You

Sounds distinct but if you look colse to you, are other businesses making it work for them?

Let me illustrate this idea with an example. You want a new bathroom and are genuinely excited at the anticipation of how your new bathroom will improve your life, impress your friends and family, and be a source of delight for many years to come. Where do you look first for a bathroom company? In the local paper, yellow pages, a card on an advertising board at the supermarket? If you see an advert just it just give the firm name address and phone amount and mentions the fact that they are plumbers that can also fit bathrooms? Does it inspire you to feel them? It is unlikely but if you are new to the area and have no one to ask for a recommendation, what selection do you have?

Would you rather see something that matches the image you have in your head of your new bathroom? An advert that tells you how your new bathroom will be designed colse to you, how the colour and selection of fittings will improve the unabridged appearance, how the lighting can make such a incompatibility to the look and feel of the room at night, how the range of tiles offered are chosen to perfectly compliment the fittings?

Which firm would you feel first? The advert that just gives basic details or one that gives sufficient hints for you to know that they genuinely care about their customers, and that they put their customers at the very top of their businesses priorities.

I know this is an very easy explanation but it does feature the negative way 99% of businesses narrate themselves in their own adverts.

Another example is to look in your local Yellow Pages for an Accountant. In my local edition there are 11 pages of entries for Accountants. All but one of them have their firm name in big letters and a list of bullet points of the services they offer such as Accounts Preparation, Self assessment Returns, Tax Planning and Advice, Consultancy and Support. How do these Accountants think you are able to pick their firm out of all those adverts, settle on them as your new Accountant, and collect a new customer?

The one that I mentioned which has not done that shall remain nameless, but I can certify you that their Yellow Page advert is well worth the money they have spent. After all, what is the point of paying for an advert that just lists things that an Accountant is predicted to know and offer anyway?

To make your advertising work you have to abandon the approved way of doing things. Do not fall into the institutional way of advertising like all those Accountants.

Aim to be the only one who actively writes the advert to petition to possible customers, to match the things they are looking for that makes you unique and worthy of their business.

Out of 11 pages of Accountants, would you sigh and just pick one that is close to your address, or if you saw one that offered you a free record that showed 5 easy ways to improve your marketing and boost your firm profits; that mentioned other reports informing you of all matters directly relevant to your business; and that gave you the impression that you will be the most foremost person in their practice; would you select them? Or at least ring them and have a chat?

Think of these pointers relating to your own firm and make sure that your advertising works for you.

Lastly, do not be put off by pushy salesmen trying to sell you advertising. I have had it myself from that amazing tome, Yellow Pages, telling you that every person advertises institutionally because it works. It is naturally because they are looking for a quick commission and do not want to be delayed by irrelevant matters such as artwork or fabricate if they can help it.

Step 4: Test all You Do

This means just what it says on the tin. Test all you do to make sure it works; that it creates the desired response; that it cannot be done in better ways; that it looks at its best etc.

Never roll out a series of adverts or sales letters without testing. easy changes to headlines, colours, size, content etc. Can have a marked ensue on results. Take out small adverts in separate places and see which produces better results. Use a ideas of codes to make tracking the responses easier. Continually tweak and fiddle with them until you find a small advert that produces a good stream of responses each time you put it in. Then you can be distinct that a larger advert, which costs more money, will yield even better results. This is how advertising should operate. If your current adverts are not performing as well as you would like, convert them or get rid of them. Each advert should make you more behalf else why would you bother?

The fancy you test all is so you can judge the results objectively. A thriving advert is one that makes a behalf each time you run it so you must keep an eye on responses from each advert with a code or similar method. If you find a profitable advert, run it more often and in more places. Keep checking its doing and use it more and more whilst it is profitable. Dump it as soon as its doing starts to drop off.

Step 5: Take operate Of Your Business

Remember, it is your firm and you rule how it is structured, how it operates, where it runs from, how it is to grow and how it should be serving you.

If you have taken notice of Step 1 above, you should have climbed out of the trenches of your business. You should have stopped being a foot soldier and be acting as a general, directing your soldiery as they tackle the world of firm to make profits for you.

Now is the time to rule on your working hours, what you genuinely want out of life and how much wealth you want to generate for yourself.

Most firm owners are scared of stepping back from their firm but the occasion they do, the possible for increase opens up in front of them.

Once you are remote from your firm you can start to make decisions about the future. For a start, every person in the firm should come to be an specialist at marketing. Your customer feel of your firm starts with the first feel or telephone call. Every member of staff must therefore be customer focused and looking to give that customer the very best feel possible.

Have you ever been to a shop at 5.20pm that is supposed to close at 5.30pm, mental you have time to pop in before they shut, only to find person stood at the door refusing to let you in as they are closing. You can see the way those staff are focused; inwards upon themselves. They want to be leaving at 5.30pm and be on their way home. They do not care if their boss loses a sale, they just want to watch today's lesson of their favourite Tv Soap Opera.

A thriving firm will have staff more than happy to welcome you with a smile at 5.20pm and stay with you until you are sorted, even if it means they get home late themselves.

Conclusion:

There are many ways to educate yourself and your staff in marketing and customer services but it is time and money very well spent. Just telling your staff to say Have A Nice Day as each customer leaves your premises loses all its advantage if they say it snarling straight through gritted teeth!
